The Center for Teen Empowerment (TE) will host its 32nd Annual Gala, “Change Begins with YOUth,” on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6:00–9:00 PM at the Omni Boston Hotel, Seaport District 450 Summer Street, Boston, where they will celebrate the voices, leadership, and impact of young people working to create peace, equity, and justice in their communities. In addition, adult awardees include Somerville’s very own Danny McLaughlin (Director of Community Organizing and advocacy for CAAS), and Ward 1 Councilman Matt McLaughlin. There will also be youth performances in dance ,music, and speeches, a seated dinner, open wine/beer, and much more (including, hopefully, YOU!)
Since 1992, Teen Empowerment has employed, trained, and supported over 120 youth annually at our Roxbury, Mattapan, Dorchester and Somerville sites. Teen Empowerment’s youth-led summer and after school programs have reduced community violence, strengthened community relationships, and elevated youth perspectives in public decision-making.
