Meet Jess and the team at Vera’s! Vera’s is new to the Square, although their team is not, having run various restaurants and nightlight businesses in the same space since 2003.
Sit and sip at Vera’s to savor a friendly, cocktail-focused neighborhood restaurant serving straightforward food & drinks. You’ll find this cozy spot next door to their older sibling, The Independent.
Jess shares that “Somerville, and especially Union Square, is an incredible place to run a restaurant. We love being a part of such a creative, vibrant community. We love walking out onto the plaza and seeing all the different parklet patios lit up at night. Our community of Union Square residents, small businesses and other restaurants inspires us!”
Behind the scenes, Jess shares that Vera's lead bartender, Kristin, is celebrating her 11th anniversary on the team! “Kristin is known and loved all over Somerville for her incredible warmth and charm and is one of the amazing people who makes Vera’s so much fun,” exclaims Jess, “If you haven't met Kristin, you should stop by and let her mix you a drink!”
