This Women's Self Defense course is a beginner program teaching safe, effective and fundamental movements that anyone can learn. At Oom Yung Doe, we want everyone in the community to feel confident that they CAN defend themselves!
Oom Yung Doe Women's Self Defense is a beginner program teaching safe, effective and fundamental movements that anyone can learn. Participants will learn how to turn everyday objects into weapons for self defense, and how to safely use their body and bring strength and power to their voice to put an offender on the defense.
To begin our class we will cover a series of conditioning movements along with breathing, stretching and strengthening techniques. These exercises help to increase mobility, improve circulation, boost energy levels, and reduce stress. Practicing these exercises consistently will enhance focus, mental clarity, awareness, and confidence.
Self Defense Techniques will consist of:
How to react against punches, grabs from behind and throat attacks using movements that leverage your strength.
Techniques to stay calm and focused under pressured situations
Stretching and strengthening exercises to condition the body
First time participants should plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Preferred attire: loose fitting clothing that you can move around in comfortably.
