Union Square Landscape: Looking Forward and Backward

  • Bow Market 1 Bow Market Way Somerville, MA, 02143 United States (map)

This tour will be led by Edward Gordon, architectural historian and President of the New England Chapter of the Victorian Society in America. It starts at Bow Market, an innovative re-purposing of a parking lot, winds its way along the western edge of Union Square, and then loops around Lincoln Park, newly reopened and creatively designed. The walk will highlight the architecture and potential of the many historic buildings that have been preserved as the landscape of Union Square transforms around them.

Start: Bow Market Union Square (entry next to 345 Somerville Avenue)

End: Reception with light refreshments at Aeronaut (14 Tyler Street) at the end of "Innovation Way"
