In collaboration with local businesses, Union Square Main Streets (USMS) proudly presents Good Food for All, a week-long, community campaign to raise awareness and funds for the Union Square Farmers Market local SNAP match.
From June 23-30, participating businesses will donate proceeds from a featured product or service or a percentage of sales to the local SNAP match program.
Mark your calendars, and check back to this page to see the growing list of local businesses supporting this effort.
Why is it important?
SNAP(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the successor to Food Stamps) recipients often find fresh, local food at farmers markets unaccessible. Since 2005, USMS has raised money to match SNAP dollars, making it possible for more eligible households to participate in our Farmers Market. And now we invite you, friends and neighbors, to come to the table and to help bolster this program with visits to your favorite Union Square establishments. (And perhaps discover new ones, too?)
