Mill City Trio was active from 2005-2011, performing regularly in clubs, concert halls and galleries around New England. The band released three critically acclaimed albums of original music, as well as a few surprising covers: "Overkill" by the '80s rock band Men at Work, and a revved-up version of the Baroque guitar piece "Canarios" by Gaspar Sanz. In 2010, Mill City Trio presented a series of concerts/workshops in New York, New Jersey and New England centered around "The Syncopated Bird," a concert-length composition for jazz trio and narrator. The group reunited for a short set last June as part of a fundraising concert for Musicians Without Borders. Tonight's show will feature "all the hits," as well as a few surprises.
