Cheers for Craft Beers at Aeronaut Brewing Company!

Ronn Friedlander and Dan Rassi moved their backyard brewing operation to 14 Tyler Street in 2014. Nine years and many craft beer awards later, Aeronaut Brewing Company has expanded their operations to three locations across greater Boston while keeping community building at its core.
Tell us a little about Aeronaut!
Aeronaut is more than just a brewery, we're a staple of the neighborhood and place for people to gather, connect and share. We lead with science, creativity, inclusivity, and exploration. Visit us in Somerville, where it all started, to enjoy 15+ beers on draft, unique events, live music, and more!
What inspired you to start a business? What drew you to opening your taproom in Union Square?
During our time at grad school, we became obsessed with all things fermentation! We spent all of our free time hanging out with friends and brewing beer. It didn't take long for our hobby to outgrow our apartment and backyard and we quickly realized that these recipes had greater potential. After living in Somerville, we knew that this was where we wanted to plant our brewery roots. Once we witnessed the initial success of the taproom in 2014, it was clear that we had made the right decision; this community embraced us and allowed us to continue to not only develop experimental, award-winning craft beers, but also to host out of the box events, give us an opportunity to support local nonprofits, and to lift up our neighborhood artists and creatives. We wouldn't be where we are today without the generous and enthusiastic people of Somerville!
What aspect of your business makes you most proud to be a business leader in our community?
Aeronaut was built on the idea of serving as a welcoming and inclusive place for the people of this community to gather. We're extremely proud of being able to bring this vision to life and to be able to incorporate the creative talent that permeates this neighborhood into the fabric of our business.
How do you #LoveUnionSquare?
Union Square brings so much vibrancy to our community, and we're so grateful to be a part of it! Nothing beats grabbing a Bloc iced coffee, a hazelnut donut from Union Square Donuts, and heading to the brewery courtyard for some sun and a cold beer! We hope to see you all there!
Is there anything else you think a Square customer would like to know?
While Aeronaut started in Somerville, this incredible community has afforded us the opportunity to expand our business to now include two additional locations. Come visit us at the Aeronaut Cannery in Everett or under the string lights at Aeronaut Allston during the summer season. We look forward to raising a glass with y'all! Cheers!
