What the Fluff? A Tribute to Union Square Invention

2008 Performers

back to main Fluff 08 page

Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band

Formed from the most talented deadbeats and drifters that could be rounded up, this group of raucous and rambunctious musicians will honk, wail, blow, beat, bounce, scream and serenade their way into your hearts. Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band combines the rich musical history of the circus and the vagabond peoples of Europe with the raw energy of avant-garde jazz and the irreverence and fun of today's Vaudeville for a sound that is somehow familiar yet like no other.

Shrinking Islands

The Shrinking Islands recapture the jangly sound of early REM and the Feelies, reduced to its bare essentials.  The Cambridge-based band was formed in 2004 by drummer Andy Tefft and singer/ guitarist Kyle Bittinger.  Their first album "In the Black Carpet" was released by Sort Of Records in 2006. See more on their website.

Patsy Hamel Band

Blues with sass and swing.

See them on You Tube or check out their myspace page.
